The foundation’s stated aim is: (to stimulate) composing, to perform and exploit music that combines characteristics of various “fields of music”, as well as stimulate partnerships with various artistic disciplines, such as dance, video, theatre. (excerpt from our statutes)

The foundation has been in existence since 1996. Composer/guitarist Corrie van Binsbergen is the driving force behind the foundation. She has already worked many years as the initiator of varied projects with boundary-crossing qualities combining different disciplines. As one of the few organizations that work in the field of improvisation Stichting Brokken receives structural support of the Dutch government (Performing Arts Fund NL (Fonds Podiumkunsten). This enables CVB to keep on creating her projects and developing her ideas.
